Welcoma
Accessibility Widget + honest WCAG scanner

A website that welcomes everyone.

Welcoma gives your visitors an accessibility menu that adapts to their needs – and soon a scanner that uncovers real WCAG issues instead of hiding them behind an overlay. In web development, A11y is about designing and building websites, apps and digital services so that as many people as possible can perceive, understand, navigate and use them.

The honest approach

Real accessibility, not fake compliance.

An overlay alone does not make a website legally compliant. Welcoma does both: it helps your visitors right away – and shows you what truly needs fixing in the code.

Overlay-only tools

Hide the problems

  • Promise “compliance at the push of a button” – legally untenable.
  • Lay a layer over the site without repairing the code.
  • If someone complains, you still have no evidence.
Welcoma

Fix them at the root

  • Visitor widget for instant adjustments – real value from minute one.
  • Scanner with a prioritised report that points to the affected code.
  • Clear evidence and progress – so you can document your compliance.

FAQ

What to know before you start.

Does Welcoma make my website automatically compliant?

No – and anyone who promises that is not telling the truth. No widget makes a site automatically BFSG- or WCAG-compliant. Welcoma supports your compliance efforts: the menu improves usability for your visitors, and the scanner shows you the real issues in the code that you then fix. Compliance comes from implementation – not from an overlay.

Is Welcoma GDPR-compliant?

The settings your visitors choose in the menu are stored exclusively locally in the browser (localStorage) – not on a server. The widget sets no cookies and embeds no external trackers, and the fonts are self-hosted.

Does it work with my CMS?

At launch there is a plugin for WordPress (including WooCommerce) – without touching your code. Versions for Shopware, Shopify and Magento are in preparation.

Does the widget slow down my site?

No. It is deliberately lightweight (plain JavaScript, no heavy framework) and loads in the background without blocking the page.

Do I need programming skills?

No. Setup takes under five minutes and you control everything from a dashboard – position, colour, language and which tools your visitors see.

What does A11y mean?

A11y is a common abbreviation for accessibility. The “11” represents the eleven letters between “a” and “y” in the word accessibility. In web development, a11y commonly refers to making websites and digital services accessible to people with disabilities.
